The secret to a longer lasting printer

AUTHOR | HP Technology at Work

Fifteen years ago, opening the hood and cleaning the interior of your printer—unclogging inkjet print nozzles, wiping down gears and rotors, vacuuming up dust and grime—was standard operating procedure for those wishing to extend printer life. Unfortunately, while things may have often looked cleaner before the hood was reclosed, in fact sensitive parts had been damaged, dust had been blown about rather than removed, and printer life had been shortened, not extended.

By contrast, many printers today are typically self-cleaning. Often, the hood is bolted shut—it’s not even possible to open the printer and poke around inside. Printers just work, without any need for cleaning or repairs. There’s no need to replace parts—only paper and ink. And when a printer finally wears out, purchasing an affordable, high-quality new printer is far and away the most cost-effective response.

Still, there are steps you can take to extend the life of your printer. For instance…     Read more

Product Spotlight | LG 21:9 UltraWide Multi-Tasking Monitor

AUTHOR | Jason Erickson @ThinkSpace IT

My laptops and desktops new best friend is the LG 29" Multitasking monitor. In the age of multiple monitors sucking up all of your desk space, this is the best solution I have found for reclaiming it. Think of 2 to 6 displays wrapped into one beautiful package. After installing this I was able to (gasp) put a piece of paper on my desk as well as look at 4 different screens! After a small software piece is installed, the large screen is broken into zones via software. These are actually changeable on the fly via drag and drop as well as a drop down menu choice. Drag a window into your zone and it fills the zone automatically. As another bonus it allows for multiple device connections so I can hook up multiple machines as well. I fully recommend this to everyone that needs either an ultra-high resolution display or a multi monitor replacement.

FEATURES

  • PHSYICAL CHARACTERISTICS- 15.9" (height w/stand), 27.7" (width), 18.96lb. (weight w/stand)
  • 4-SCREEN SPLIT FEATURE- Efficiently run several programs and have multiple active windows on the screen at the same time.
  • FLICKER-SAFE- Eye fatigue is a major concern when working overtime on the computer. LG’s Almost-Zero Flicker Free technology, allows the ability to work longer and more comfortably without straining the eyes.
  • READER MODE- With a touch of a button, Reader Mode allows the reduction of blue light emissions that can be harmful to the eyes.
